Healthy diet and mindfulness seem to be two separate genres in the market that do not relate. While most of the food diary apps are about numbers like calories and weights, there are also apps which advocate well beingness. However, the combination of mindfulness and healthy diet apps remains niche in the food diary market.
How might we build a digital platform for people who experience stress to mend their relationship with food in a mindful and professional way while also offering companionship to users?
Approach
During the 14 weeks of project timeline, there are three main phases: ideation, user research and protoype designing phases.
In ideation phase, I decided to work on mending food relationship as including myself, I realised a lot of people are stressed from the diet culture and they are looking for a digital tool that can help them.
During problem validation phase, I have conducted a UX research and figured out that my potential users need. Throughout the UX research and usability tests, here are the summarised results:
73% of the respondents agree that they want to mend their food relationship.
56% of the respondents want to know how food meditation can help them.
80% of the respondents want professional help and companionship in their diet journey.

Reflection
The experience has definitely expanded my horizon. It is my pleasure to take the lead in this project and be responsible for all aspects, which has deepened my understanding of project management and digital product development. In this project, I was able to utilize my problem-solving abilities and refine my graphic design skills. This process has also given me not only a deeper appreciation of the importance of understanding users' needs, but also a chance to communicate with other stake holders including developers and graphic designers. This will definitely help me in my future work and in communicating with different teams.
